Leith Franklin
Leith Franklin graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor
of Applied Science in Chemistry and Microbiology in 1995. He then went on to
achieve Honours in Chemical Technology though study into the Chemical and Physical
properties causing Stickiness in Dried Vine fruit.
After graduating Leith spent several years gaining experience in microbiology
and Chemical analysis through Contract work with Christian Hansen Ltd., the
Angas Park Fruit Company and Chemical and Physical testing through Adelaide
Brighton Cement Ltd.
Leith's interest in wine analysis was stimulated by a short employment with
Southcorp Wines at Nuriootpa, which he left for the role of Microbiologist with
Brauer Natural Medicine in the Barossa Valley.
Eventually the lure of the wine industry became too great and Leith took up
a position as Laboratory Technician with the Hardy Wine Company at Berri Estates
later moving to the role of Laboratory Supervisor at the HWC's Renmano Winery.
In August 2004 Leith took up the position of Quality Assurance Manager at the
companies Stanley Winery in Buronga. His role includes responsibility for the
sites quality, HACCP and environmental management systems and laboratory operations.
